Our AmeriCorps members serve alongside educators and school nutrition leaders to provide kids with nourishing meals, food education, and culturally affirming experiences with food that celebrate and nurture the whole child. Building on this direct service, FoodCorps advocates for policy change, grows networks, and develops leaders in service of every kid’s health and wellbeing. What We’re Looking For:FoodCorps is looking for a highly organized candidate to provide support to FoodCorps’ Impact Programs Department. Reporting to the Director of Impact Programs, the Administrator Coordinator will provide critical administrative support to ensure that the Impact Programs team is operating efficiently and effectively. Thanks to the capacity you will build, our team can thrive, run especially effective programming, and stay on target to meet our ambitious strategic goals.
This is a primarily remote position with the need to be based in Portland, OR

You thrive on completing administrative projects that enable teams to perform at their highest potential and ensure staff have what they need to effectively run and support FoodCorps programming. You possess a “no task too small” demeanor that helps connect day-to-day tasks to the broader mission and vision of the organization. You have strong organizational skills with the ability to simultaneously manage and anticipate the needs of individuals and the demands of the program as a whole. Your experience allows you to remain forward-thinking as priorities shift.
Primary Responsibilities:
Complete a wide range of administrative tasks that facilitate the Impact Programs Department’s ability to efficiently and effectively meet our bold strategic goals, including, but not limited to:
- Delivering sophisticated calendar management for Impact Leadership by handling the scheduling and logistics for regularly occurring meetings and other requests.
- Supporting meeting notes, and synthesizing takeaways and next steps.
- Providing direct administrative support to Impact Leadership staff individually and collectively, including coordinating logistical support for team gatherings and meetings.
- Providing accountability and tracking for programmatic processes.
Support effective and clear internal communications to ensure every person, in every role, has the information they need to work towards our strategic goals for students by:
- Drafting templates and gathering announcements to streamline communications to service members and program staff.
- Serving as the first point of contact for questions from various internal and external partners and elevating needs and questions to the appropriate people.
- Partnering with meeting facilitators to ensure meetings are accessible and meet multiple learning and engagement needs.
Manage programmatic resources effectively by:
- Coordinating the distribution of materials and resources to service members; managing inventory in our Portland office.
- Coordinating annual projects and special one-time projects to develop and revise written materials collaboratively with staff in various departments across FoodCorps.
- Ensuring resources, templates, and information are accessible to staff, service members, and site supervisors by managing online platforms and document storage.
Measures of Success:
By the end of year 1, the Administrative Coordinator will:
- Manage cross-departmental communication is clear and accessible for various roles and builds transparency and a shared story of FoodCorps' impact; 90% of Impact Programs Staff will report that their weekly digest is relevant to and supportive of their work.
- Plan team meetings and department spaces to ensure that time is well spent and meetings are effectively managed; agendas are shared with participants 2 working days before the meeting and summaries/next steps are shared within 1 working day.
- Deliver high-quality administrative support through calendar management, agenda creation, and data input so that 100% of the Impact Leadership team reports spending less time on those tasks.
- Ensure Impact Programs staff have the information they need to track FoodCorps AmeriCorps Service Member requirements and processes; 85% of service members will complete required processes (ie. submitting their Service Member Action Plan, the Mid-Term Review, etc).
